Our Story
Founder
Founder Penelope Sherman wanted to shake off the political drama of 2016 with a celebration of diversity, so she started a "just for fun" instagram account creating styled looks representing the variety of colors within the "nude" spectrum.
She soon caught the attention of those we lovingly refer to as "the nudists", meaning anyone who has a fascination with neutral tones and the beauty of beige.
After her account became wildly popular, Penelope decided to put her Fashion Merchandising & Design degree to good use, and launched a sustainable clothing collection featuring three lines: intimates, basics, + occasions.

I'm Penelope Sherman, and most days you can find me glued to my sewing machine creating new custom pieces for my sustainable fashion collection to keep things fresh and fun in the world of nude.
When I'm not working on my business, you can find me sipping on a frothy cup of coffee from a local bistro, taking photos just for fun, or rock climbing with my family!
I strive to put magic in my everyday, and that, coupled with hard work, has lead me to where I am now. I am proud that The NUDIST started as a feel-good personal project to celebrate every BODY, and that this message resonated with so many and shifted into an entire collective and movement.
